about

Still laden with echo and atmosphere, Baby I'm Jeff finds a driving, guitar-emphasized pace scarcely heard since their eponymous first release in 2012. Songs like "Son of an Atom Bomb" and "Mercury in Retrograde" rock hard and fast with protopunk exuberance, while "Autopilot Says Yes" and "I Can See the Future" carry a lofty down-tempo sludge. The title track is a pretty acoustic ballad that chronicles patterns of privilege, hypocrisy, and abuse while posing as a love song. Drawing more influence from the 90s than the 60s or 80s, Baby I'm Jeff has a new urgency and drive.
